Tom Gutierrez - President, Chief Executive Officer and Director |

Tom Gutierrez is GT Solar's president and chief executive officer, and a member of its board of directors.
Gutierrez has extensive international experience in product development, manufacturing, marketing and sales. Prior to assuming his position at GT Solar, Gutierrez served as chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of Xerium Technologies Inc., a multinational company that develops, manufactures and markets technically advanced synthetic textiles. He was previously chief executive officer of Invensys Power Systems, a $3 billion multinational business and world leader in power control and energy storage products, systems and services for industrial applications. Gutierrez has also held several executive officer positions with Pulse Engineering, Pitney Bowes, Inc. and Motorola, Inc.
Gutierrez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Florida Institute of Technology. He currently serves on the board of directors of Verso Paper Corp., Comverge, Inc. and PhytoChem Pharmaceuticals, a company he founded. |

Hoil Kim - Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary |
|
Hoil Kim is GT Solar’s vice president and general counsel. He is a lawyer and global mergers and acquisitions professional with more than 20 years of experience, including practice with leading law firms in New York, Hong Kong and Boston, as the general counsel of a multinational company and as a specialist in strategic development and emerging markets.
Most recently, Kim headed up strategic development for Cabot Corporation, a global company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), where he played a significant role in the company’s expansion into China and Eastern Europe. In his prior position as general counsel, Kim led an international legal team supporting Cabot's businesses around the world. Previously, Kim practiced law with Dewey Ballantine in New York, as well as with Hale and Dorr (now WilmerHale) in Boston and Pettit and Martin in Hong Kong. Kim began his professional career as a satellite telecommunications engineer and worked on space systems for Intelsat and NASA. He designed the first digital baseband GPS receiver for the US Air Force.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and applied science from Yale University and received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Georgetown University. |

Peter Bihuniak, Ph.D. - Vice President of Technology |
|
Peter Bihuniak, Ph.D. is GT Solar's vice president of technology and chairman of its Technical Advisory Board. He is an accomplished senior operating and technology executive with extensive domestic and international experience in manufacturing oriented business.
Before joining GT Solar, Dr. Bihuniak served as technical managing director for ASI Industries GmbH, now a division of ersol Solar Energy AG. Previously, as vice president of technology and chief technology officer for BP Solar, Dr. Bihuniak had worldwide responsibility for technology and product development.
Prior to his career in the solar industry, Dr. Bihuniak made considerable contributions in the flat glass industry having served as director of research and development at Pilkington, L-O-F and, before that as general manager of the Specialty Products Division at PPG Industries. Dr. Bihuniak also played a significant role in the commercialization of speciality materials while at GE Lighting, where he led technical and marketing activities in high purity materials for semiconductor and fiber optic applications. He began his career at Corning, Inc., in basic and applied R&D concentrating on speciality glasses and fiber optics.
Dr. Bihuniak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in ceramic science summa cum laude from Rutgers University, a Master of Science degree in materials science from the University of California, Berkley, and a doctorate degree in ceramics from Alfred University. He also holds numerous patents and publications, and is a Fellow in the American Ceramic Society. |

Jeffrey J. Ford - Vice President and General Manager, Asia |
|
Jeffrey J. Ford is GT Solar’s vice president and general manager, Asia. Ford’s career has spanned 30 years.
Prior to joining GT Solar, Ford served as general manager of Kayex, a division of SPX Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of semiconductor and photovoltaic single crystal growing furnaces. During his tenure at Kayex, Ford was also vice president of finance and then acting president, and led a Sino-American joint venture in Hangzhou, China, where he established equipment production lines serving worldwide customers.
Ford holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Bonaventure University and has completed executive management courses at Northwestern University relating to mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances. |

David Gray, Ph.D. - Vice President, Strategic Development |
|
David Gray, Ph.D., GT Solar's vice president, strategic development, brings to the company nearly two decades of experience.
Dr. Gray was most recently a managing director and head of technology mergers and acquisitions at Canaccord Adams, an investment banking firm. He previously served as managing director of SVB Alliant, the investment-banking arm of SVB Financial Group, where he founded and grew the company’s East Coast office, focusing on technology and life sciences mergers and acquisitions and private capital. In his prior position as a principal at Broadview International, Dr. Gray provided strategic advisory services to public and private technology firms and led execution on a wide range of successful technology transactions. He began his career as a chemical engineer and then founded Aspect International, an engineering design firm focused on the development and licensing of advanced semiconductor process equipment.Dr. Gray received his Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude from Carnegie Mellon University. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University and a doctorate degree in chemical engineering/semiconductor processing from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Gray also holds several patents and has authored 12 major technical publications. |

Ron Jones - Vice President and General Manager, Turnkey Division |
|
Ron Jones is GT Solar’s vice president and general manager, turnkey division. He is an industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience involving functional and general management in the areas of sales, marketing, product and business development, business planning, mergers and acquisitions, and project management.
Prior to joining GT Solar, Jones was an independent consultant, advising global organizations on sales and marketing strategy. He previously served as vice president of sales for BP Solar, one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies. During Jones’ tenure at BP Solar, the company achieved profitable sales growth, exceeding 45 percent per year. Before joining BP Solar, Jones held positions of increasing responsibility at PPG Industries, a global supplier of paints, coatings, chemicals, optical products, specialty materials, glass and fiberglass.
Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College and a master’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University. |

David W. Keck - Vice President and General Manager, Polysilicon Division |
|
David W. Keck, GT Solar’s vice president and general manager, polysilicon division, brings to the company nearly 20 years of experience in the design, operation, sales, marketing, and management of polysilicon facilities.
Before joining GT Solar, Keck operated his own consulting business relating to the silicon industry. Previously, he served as vice president of business development, plant manager, and operations manager for Advanced Silicon Materials Incorporated (ASIMI), one of the leading manufacturers of ultra-pure silicon in the world, where he focused on manufacturing silane gas and polysilicon for wafer fabrication companies and semiconductor companies. During his tenure at ASIMI, Keck worked on two major expansions, and had overall responsibility for commissioning and starting up the company’s green-field facility in Butte, Montana. Prior to ASIMI, Keck was a thermodynamics engineer at Lockheed Missiles & Space Corporation.
Keck holds an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Montana State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington. |

Brian Logue - Vice President, Human Resources |
|
Brian Logue - is GT Solar™s vice president, human resources. He brings to the company more than 20 years of global human resources experience within the technology sector and has set, formulated and implemented human resource strategies and related initiatives worldwide.
Prior to joining GT Solar, Logue was founder and principal of consulting firm Highstreet Advisors, Inc., where he provided strategic human resources solutions to emerging technology companies throughout the United States and Canada. Previously, he served as vice president of human resources for Aspect Software, a worldwide leader in the contact center space. Logue has also held human resources positions of increasing responsibility at Davox Corporation, Alcatel and Texas Instruments.
Logue holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Rhode Island College. |

John (Rick) Tattersfield - Vice President and General Manager, Photovoltaic (PV) Equipment Division |
|
Rick Tattersfield is GT Solar’s vice president and general manager, PV equipment division. He brings to the position more than two decades of experience in global operations, including manufacturing, quality, logistics, and supply chain.
Before joining GT Solar, Tattersfield served in various capacities at Instron Corporation, a division of ITW Inc., a diversified international manufacturer. As corporate vice president of quality and technical services for ITW, Tattersfield ensured the quality, compliance, and integrity of all products and services produced worldwide. Other roles Tattersfield held at the company included divisional vice president—operations, where he directed order fulfillment for two divisions; vice president of operations and joint general manager of Instron Schenck Testing GmbH (IST); and, general manager of Amsler Otto Wolpert Werke GmbH, where he managed the integration of newly-acquired companies based in Germany.
Tattersfield holds degrees in engineering from the Royal Naval Engineering College (UK) and the Cranfield Institute of Technology (UK), and is a graduate of the MIT-Sloan School’s Greater Boston Executive Education Program. He is a Fellow in Manufacturing Management, and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the British Institute of Management. |
