Thomas M. Zarrella, President and CEO
Mr. Zarella has over twenty-five years of international operations experience spanning low to high tech manufacturing. At RWE Schott Solar, Mr. Zarrella successfully transitioned the company from an R&D operation to a full-scale manufacturer of photovoltaic products. Prior to RWE Schott Solar, Mr. Zarrella directed manufacturing and North American Operations for Instron Corporation of Canton, MA, a manufacturer of material testing equipment. He also served in corporate positions at several companies, including Revere Corporation (Allied Signal) of Wallingford, CT, Sprague Meter (Textron, Inc.) of Bridgeport, CT., and Sikorsky Aircraft (United Technologies) of Stratford, CT. Mr. Zarrella has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and an M.B.A. from the University of Bridgeport.
Fusen E. Chen, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer and General Manager of the Gapfill Business Unit of Novellus Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of semiconductor production equipment since 2005, and Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific Operations from 2004 to 2005. Prior to joining Novellus, Dr. Chen spent 10 years at Applied Materials, Inc., most recently as the Group Vice President & General Manager of the Copper Physical Vapor CPI Business Group. Dr. Chen holds a bachelor's degree in materials science and engineering from the National Tsing Hua University (Hsinchu, Taiwan) and a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
J. Michal Conaway
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Peregrine Group, LLC, an executive consulting firm, since 2002, and has been providing consulting services since 2000. Prior to 2000, Mr. Conaway held various management and executive positions, including serving as Chief Financial Officer of Fluor Corporation, an engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services provider. He serves as a director of Quanta Services, Inc. and Cherokee International Corporation, as well as a director of Elgin National Industries, Inc. and Enterra Holdings Ltd., both of which are privately held companies. Mr. Conaway holds an M.B.A. degree from Pepperdine University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
J. Bradford Forth
CEO of Power Measurement, Inc., a global provider of enterprise energy management systems owned by GFI from 1996 to 2005 when sold to Schneider Electric. Former Board Chair of Cannon Technologies, Inc., director of Xantrex Technology Inc. which is also a GFI portfolio company. Ernst and Young’s “2002 Pacific Entrepreneur of the Year – Technology and Communications” and member of Young Presidents’ Organization. Board member of GT Solar Incorporated.
Ernest Godshalk
Managing Director of ELGIN Management Group, a private investment company. From February 2001 until he retired in December 2004, Mr. Godshalk served as President, Chief Operating Officer and a director of Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc., a supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. From April 1999 until February 2001, Mr. Godshalk served as Varian Semiconductor's Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. From November 1998 until April 1999, Mr. Godshalk was Vice President, Finance of the semiconductor equipment business of Varian Associates, Inc. Mr. Godshalk is a director of Verigy Ltd.
Richard K. Landers
Long time Partner of Venture Associates and then of Arthur Andersen & Co. Senior planning and strategy positions in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. with Southern California Gas Company and its holding company, Pacific Enterprises. Former Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. State Department with special responsibilities for international energy matters and an active participant in the development of emerging markets for natural gas and electricity. Board member of GT Solar Incorporated and member of the investors' committee for Longhorn Partners Pipeline, LP.
